How We Build Your Deck
Every deck we build follows the same order, because the parts nobody sees decide how the finished surface feels years later. Here is what the process looks like from first visit to final coat.
- Site visit and measure: we check levels, soil, access and the height off the ground, then talk through boards, sizes and where the stairs should land.
- Footings and piers: we dig to the depth the soil and load require and pour piers sized for the span rather than guessed at.
- Sub-frame: bearers and joists are chosen for their real span, ledgers flashed into sound structure, and every bracket and bolt rated for outdoor use.
- Decking: boards are laid to consistent gaps with concealed or top fixings, cut clean at the edges and finished with a proper fascia.
- Stairs and balustrade: treads, landings and compliant balustrades are built as part of the structure, not added on after the boards go down.
- Finishing: we oil, stain or seal the deck, clean the site down and set out a maintenance routine you can realistically keep up with.
